We make all our own cakes, scones and puddings, as well as lunchtime dishes like quiches, every day. If you time your visit right in the morning, you might have your scone fresh from the oven! Lunches are light, but filling - you could try our hand carved home cooked ham, homemade quiches or traditional country ploughmans with our secret recipe homemade chutney! Or there's always homemade soup and crusty bread, or try our delicious tearooms classics welsh, buck or sussex rarebits. Sandwiches are always available and always made to order. Don't forget pudding too - ours are homemade every day. There's always apple pie on the menu, as well as others which may include strawberry meringues, pear and almond tart and all time favourite, bread pudding. Afternoon teas are our speciality! If old fashioned means real leaf tea, freshly made scones with jam and proper clotted cream and home make cakes then we're proud to be old fashioned! There's always a chocolate cake, coffee sponge, carrot cake and sticky lemon drizzle cake to choose from, as well as others which could include fruit cake, ginger cake, madiera cake, old fashioned seed cake or cherry cake. Make your own choice, or try one of our special set teas. How about our Pooh Bear Tea, with honey for your scones? Or treat yourself to our Duddleswell Special Tea, a real English country tea rooms experience, with leaf lea or cafetiere of coffee, smoked salmon sandwiches, fresh homemade scones with jam and clotted cream, and homemade cake. Lunch is served from 12noon to 2pm. Afternoon tea is served from 2pm to 4.30pm. At very busy times our menu may be less extensive. |
